In a report released by the UC Davis Olive Oil Center, not only does the chemistry inside the bottle matter, but packaging weighs in too.The report is a summary of over ten years of commercial packaging literature and compares key components of commercial oil containers including: durability, effect on shelf life, and the retention of essential nutrients in glass, aluminum, tinplate cans, stainless steel, plastic, coated paperboard, and bag-in-box containers.According to the review, “to maximize shelf stability the ideal packaging material would prevent light and air penetration, and oils would be stored in the dark at 16 – 18°C (61 – 64°F).” Aluminum bottle indicate a premium product,protection from both oxygen and light, lightweight , ecyclable and eco-friendly.Aluminum bottle is the best light- and air-blocking container for food oil.
